April 3, 2009 - Fargo, North Dakota USA - Ed Shafer, former U.S. Agriculture Secretary and North Dakota Governor from 1992-2000, hands out free hambrugers to Red River Flood fighting volunteers Friday at West Acres Regional Shopping Center in Fargo. A local radio station, hamburger chain store and insurance company sponsored the thank you event for all those who helped. April 3, 2009 - Fargo, North Dakota USA - Freelance graphic designer Brenda Levos of Casselton N.D., has come up with a logo to commemorate the 2009 Red River Flood and to raise funds for charity by selling T-shirts and other items bearing her design. "United We Sand", which began with Levos photographing a pile of sand and adding type to make the logo,has already had several licensing offers and Dakota Medical Foundation has announced it will match $25,000 if funds can be raised to that amount.
